The Walk to Emmaus takes its name and spiritual image from Luke 24:13–35, where two travelers encounter the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus. The ministry uses that story as a framework for renewal, Christian discipleship and a deeper experience of grace.
During the weekend, lay and clergy leaders guide participants through a series of presentations centered on God’s grace, Christian community and faithful service. Worship, Holy Communion, prayer, acts of service and table-group discussion are integral parts of the experience.
The weekend is not intended to stand alone. Participants are encouraged to deepen their spiritual lives and become more active disciples through their local churches. Reunion groups, community gatherings, newsletters and service opportunities help support this “Fourth Day” journey.
